|
March 9, 2004 Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri football team will close the 2004 regular season at Iowa State on Nov. 27th, instead of the previously scheduled date of Nov. 13th. The change was announced today by the Big 12 Conference office, with the move being made to accommodate the league's television package. This will mark the second straight season that Mizzou and Iowa State have faced off on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. In 2003, MU defeated Iowa State in Columbia by a score of 45-7, capping off Mizzou's 8-4 regular season. The game at Iowa State will be televised, but the network assignment has yet to be determined. Options include a noon (central time) kickoff on ABC, or a 2:30 p.m. start time on Fox Sports Net. The other league game that will be televised that day features Oklahoma State at Texas Tech. Mizzou will get its 2004 season underway on Sept. 4th at home against Arkansas State. Other home games include tilts with Ball State (Sept. 18th), Colorado (Oct. 2nd), Oklahoma State (Oct. 23), Kansas State (Nov. 6th) and Kansas (Nov. 20th), with the OSU game serving as Homecoming. MU will face road tests at Troy State (Sept. 11th), Baylor (Oct. 9th), Texas (Oct. 16th), Nebraska (Oct. 30th) and Iowa State (Nov. 27th). A full schedule follows.
